My response to that Scott is Saskatchewan just beat the defending Grey Cup cahmps and Calgary can't even score more than three poitns against Toronto.

Jonathan… 41-17? I know Riders fans will say "It's only pre-season", butif the Riders are as good as you say they are, even a preseason game should be closer than that. The Stamps moved the ball on the Riders whenever they wanted, and the Riders couldn't. How many teams can say they only punted twice in the first 3 quarters of a pre-season game? I hate going to preseason games, because it's so anti-climactic. Dropped passes, timing penalties make the game go sooooo slowly, and I'm not just talking about the backups. I was at the Calgary/Sask game, and they were on! No dropped passes I saw, and very few penalties from the Stamps. It was an awesome game to watch any time of year. It usually takes even a few weeks into the season for teams to get their timing right, and to click that well together.

The only reason Edmonton beat Montreal was because of their grass stadium.

@Jonathan – I think the more notable score was Edmonton's 45-13 win over BC in Week 19. Also worth noting is that in Weeks 4 and 5 Edmonton beat BOTH Saskatchewan and Montreal, the eventual Grey Cup runners up and champions.

I touched on that in my weekly column at Esks.com. The Esks lost both of their games at Commonwealth to the Lions last year, but finished off the season with a shellacking at BC Place. Still think that the home opener magic will prevail.

Hmmm, checking the stats, Saskatchewan is 5-0 in their last five home openers. Maybe I shouldn't have picked Montreal. Naw, Montreal is good to break the streak!
