CFL Daily Dose: The place to be during the 2010 CFL season

Posted on 19 June 2010 by Jonathan Hamelin, Editor/CFL Writer

Are you excited about the upcoming CFL season?

We at CFL Daily Dose are. As such, we have plenty of features planned for the upcoming season.

Game previews/recaps: Each week, Chris Powell will set the stage for the week’s upcoming games and give readers a recap once each game is finished. For the previews, each CFL Daily Dose author will also offer their game picks for the week.

Weekly awards and power rankings: Each week, Jonathan Hamelin will hand out CFL Daily Dose’s weekly awards and share his power rankings. Awards will be given out after all the games of the week have been played and the power rankings will be published a couple of days after.

Team reports: CFL Daily Dose has been working hard to recruit team writers for all eight CFL teams during the off-season. We do not have eight team writers as of this moment, but here is what you can look forward to in that department:

Dalen Brueckner (Saskatchewan Roughriders): Brueckner is an avid fan of the Green and White. He has written about the CFL on Bleacher Report.com. During the season, Brueckner will offer his analysis on the Riders as they try to avenge their Grey Cup loss last season.

Scott Fitzsimmons (Calgary Stampeders): Fitzsimmons is a program director and sports director for a radio station in Canada. He has also written for Bleacher Report.com. A loyal fan to the Stampeders, Fitzsimmons will be writing articles on the team during the season.

Gizzie Willie (Edmonton Eskimos): Gizzie Willie is already a popular CFL blogger, writing for the Edmonton Eskimos website Esks.com, as well as his blog, EsksNation.ca. He can also be found on Twitter. Gizzie will be contributing some of his insight about the Eskimos this season.

Brandon Marsdin (Hamilton Tiger Cats): Marsdin is a big fan of the Tiger Cats and has written about them online as well. On Bleacher Report.com, Marsdin has written many article about the team. Look for his reports during the season.

Chase Ruttig: a writer for Bleacher Report.com, will be contributing general articles about the CFL.

We are still looking for more writers. If you would be interested in writing about the B.C. Lions, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Montreal Alouettes, Toronto Argonauts or the CFL in general, contact Chris.

Writing for CFL Daily Dose can be a great way to gain experience and exposure if you are an aspiring journalist. Or, if you are a hardcore fan of the CFL it can be a place to let the world know your thoughts on the game.

Besides these features, you can also expect plenty of analysis articles from the site. Furthermore, we will be keeping up with CFL Point/Counterpoint. For those unaware, CFL Point/Counterpoint is a debate between two of the site’s authors. At the end of the debate, you, the reader, vote to decide the winner of the debate.

Of course, during the off-season, CFL Daily Dose keep fans connected to the CFL. With our 2010 draft summary and grades, list of the top 50 current players in the CFL and 2010 CFL preview, hopefully we helped you get through the off-season.

CFL Daily Dose is the ultimate CFL fan site, with articles written for the fans by the fans. You won’t nessecarily find the scores and latest news here, though we do have a newsreel, because there are many sites you can click on that will tell you this. What these other sites don’t have is our fresh anaylsis.

So, stay tuned for an exciting season. We at CFL Daily Dose are just getting started.
